Ok so... links to vids in this section are fine but embedded video is not? That's counter intuitive. Most people don't want to leave a thread just to view a "good game video". Granted, they can simply open the vid link as a new tab... but a lot of people are lazy and I was simply tailoring my post to them. I still thought it was a good idea to hide the embedded vid in a spoiler so it would be less gaudy, IMO.

Most people complain due to a difference in style or taste and so they report on the matter of opinion rather than what is truly presented. A good game is a good game even if you don't quite like the fighting style or presentation. Victory is the goal... not string spamming.

 

Not speaking for anyone, but my understanding of the Glory Hole Good Games thread is that it's meant as a way to give props to other players, not props to oneself while clowning the opponent.

That being said, I personally didn't mind your post. I like VF videos in general.

 

My goal is for others not to take it so seriously. It is only a game... gasp... and we all want to have some fun, a good laugh, and maybe learn something while we're at it.

I do clown on myself too (calling Kage "Kah Gay" and saying he uses Ralph Maccio stances and noob attacks. How can that not be a knock on my style of play or the character I use most?). I plan on posting a few vids of me losing too... but they have to be entertaining. It's about having fun!

 

Again, I personally don't mind. I just want to see the game in motion. In fact, I actually agree with you that it's just a game.

However, let me point out that you seemed pretty agitated when Godokunodan posted a video clowning you. Other people might feel the same way when you do it to them.

 

GoDoKu did it to be malcious, hurtful, and made it personal. You are right... I do clown... but that's as far as it goes. I don't make it personal like GoDoKu does. I don't purposely try to attack people on a personal level and degrade them with slander. I don't have his unearned pride either.

True, I needed to tone it down. However, it was my first vid post and my first real exposure to this community. I believe the tone is more lighthearted now... silly banter makes it more interesting. Most people would yawn at noob. I have more to offer than just a simple replay. That's what makes it special. I never ever intend to go in the route of GoDoKu. I want all participants laughing as well as the viewers. It's never ment to be 1-sidesd. Except for cooladdy. Most people understand my frustration with him. So there are exceptions to the formula.

P.S. ShinyBrentford.... last night was an embarrassment of my inability to hit check that damn 2p ( i need to hit check many other things but 2p is my big prob right now)

Yeah really. The one about moving that video. Now mind you , that was the worst , scrubbiest VF video I've ever seen. The robo voice made me want to burn my speakers. However , he should be able to post a VF video anywhere he wants. Why else is there and embed video feature in the post toolbar? It's 2013 we have the technology to send information and express our views through several different media, be it video, music , photographs or text. The fact that there is a VF.TV section of the forums is perhaps an outmoded obsolete notion. It doesn't keep up with the times. Relegating all videos there is really anal. I could never be a mod. You have to be some kind of control freak.

Honestly some one posts a photograph with a funny caption, are you going to redirect it to the humorous photograph thread section? If some one asks a question about a technique here in the good games thread , are you going to tell them they can only ask such questions in the Dojo section? There's way too much micro management going on.
