GGs to all the people I faced up to now on XBL. I usually don't say much but I felt like saying something out loud today. There are so many people to mention that I couldn't hope to mention all of you guys but I enjoyed all of the matches so far. I don't know when I will say something here again but if I see you then ggs to you then too especially if I don't say anything on VFDC about it.

Awesome games to Chibitox yesterday. Really good and entertainment matches there for more than 2 hours of playing. Love your Van/lion man.

 

Crafty and Hurra play as a tag team. I think at least one's in Canada, so could explain the lag? They take other players rank bars very seriously (heard them in a party once), and clearly set out to get high grades, which they both now have. I'm sure the really excellent players can take them down, but for players like me still getting comfortable with the overall system of VF, they seem like amazingly strong players. In fact only beat CraftierN the other night for like the first time in about 200 games, when it looked like his finger slipped off the G button, blocking Pai's 3KPP...
I have a pretty good run-down of how both their Brad and Akira play, but one slip, and you lose so much health. Definitely not guys to play if you are starting a new character on there, like I have been the last few weeks with Sarah and Vanessa.

Anyhow GGs with all the Italian players I bumped into yesterday, around 4pm UK time, wow, must've been about 7 new faces that all had Italy in their Bio. Also that Michigan Vane player I mentioned in her sub-forum. Wish I had saved a replay on that. Was playing my first night on there with Vanessa, and doing amazingly well against some players, couldn't believe it. I can't even beat Camelot King's Pai with my Pai, even having trained with her for months now, and reading all the intel on here. I go on there with Vane, mash the kick button in regular stance, beat him twice, and shoot up two grades

 

Interesting. What do you mean by "they play as a tag team"?

I assume you you mean that they don't play versus each other? But i could be wrong.

 

In a party, head-sets on, going through ranked, hunting players down, over and over. I think they could be buddies IRL. They are always on there, and obviously as a European, I play at totally different times to regular US evening sessions. I like fighting CN's AK when I'm in the mood, just gotta watch out for those killer wall combos. HS's BR seems a lot more basic (but then that is the character I guess), but if you try to throw him, he often escapes it. Any slight flip, and he gets fantastic juggle damage. I suspect these guys have been studying VF seriously since at least the VF4Evo days.

 

ahh i see. Its kind of what i figured (a bit different, but close).

Since they are both always in ranked, both upper named rank players, both seem to cherry pick a bit (altho i'm not going to say much about that, since its not like i have any desire to join either of there rooms. --Craftier i know is too laggy, and i have no desire to fight brad on a 1-bar connection, though i've not tested it to see how it plays) and by looking in custom match its very obvious they never play vs one another.

I hear you on brad's absurd juggle damage vs pai. Off either his leg up kick block (blocking both mids and highs) or on blocking a back flip, or any combo ending in a back flip, he gets guaranteed spinning elbow combo for major damage + great advantage after he knocks you down. That combined with his -15 frame knee launcher being not guaranteed punishable on block (at least with my connection), brad is a beast for pai to deal with.

 

Need tips on the two? Hurricane is all abare. No yomi or block. Punish.

Craftier will stick to his basic flow chart NO MATTER WHAT. You can read him very easily and see how he plays.

 

That is how I handled Hurricane Strain, i just went all out abare on him making good use of 3P+K alot when any negative frame situation existed to stuff his offense on reaction. I actually save the last win I had against him so I can watch it to remind myself of how I should beat if see him floating around. Playing him is one the few times I throw away my poking game and go in as people keep telling me I should because he refuses to let me zone him out as aggressive as he is.

I also apply alot of reversals too because they seem to be effective against him too with all the mids he throws out too.

 

I hate throwing away my poking game, it's the most enjoyable part of the game for me . I poke him with Launchers though so it's all good.

 

Don't listen to them shadow. Yes, you should be more aggressive at times, but stick with your poking game and solid defense. Ultimately the level of play you reach will be much higher. I for one, am both flummoxed and appreciative of your play style.

Your game looks rudimentary and makes me think, "oh this guy isn't all that good, i should beat him every time!" Then i play vs you and thats far from what happens, lol. Likewise, watching you in the rooms we've been in together, I see you beat some really good players and think "how did [so and so] lose to that???" Then on my turn i lose to it too.

ahahhahhahhaaha. Thats what makes this game so fun. Many different ways to play (almost) each character. Its fun to see the different way different personalities employ different techniques to achieve the same result.

 

GGS to Midget Foot 83 today. You were the only one on there today that made me operate full power. That spacing game destroys me!

Thanks, GGs to you as well, your Eileen is just as annoying, yet fun to play as always. Monkey Girl makes the smart part of my brain hurt with her hopping around like a jacked up Yoda (and is thus why I nixed her my list of potential alts).

He uses Blaze whenever I play him.
