@Jaytech-I'll admit that T5: DR was the most balanced game of the series, and not having rage and bound does put it over T6...

It's been a while, but from what I remember, both opponents could go into a "Muay-Thai-like" clinch with each other, and you could position each other around the ring as you are moving...You could also input attacks like knees and kicks while you are clinched up and you could also input throws I believe as well...

Hold on, this might be better...Here's a vid where there's some of the grappling in action:

Man, I really miss that game...Way ahead of it's time...

i'd prefer tdr over vf5, but prolly vf5 over t6. since tdr gets boring slowly but surely, i play vf5 waiting for t6 to see if it is any good.

I'm still going to get T6 anyways, simply because I'm a fighting game fanatic...I'll also get SC IV, SF IV, KOF XII, BlazBlue and Samurai Spirits Sen...

At the end of the day though, I'll still be playing VF 5 the most out of all them...Well, SF IV and SC IV both look like they will be worth putting the time into as well...

Maybe as of late, but you can't beat some themes from VF2: the opening one, Sarah's, Akira's, Wolf's. Also I think Jacky's music from VF1 was considered a very good track.

Hello Lucid_Nightmare, nice to see you over here dude. And talking about VF gameplay I must say Virtua Fighter is stupid...!

Why is Aoi so good when controlled by the CPU and I can't make nothing but getting my ass kicked each time I choose her?... because VF is stupid...!

Why is Lau so violent and agressive and such an ass the other day I had to turn my console off because he game me a head ake and when I'm playing with him I'm so predictable and weak?... because VF is stupid...!

Why is Akira such of monster when played by the cpu and always changing his style and fighting estrategy against me? and when I try to use him I can't get him to work. because VF is stupid...!

Why is everybody better than me? why the game is so "deep" and confusing? why do I need so many options and moves and reversals? I just want to win a god dawn fight...! is that so hard? please give me a break I don't play mediocre / crazy fighting games, I play the best: Dead or Alive...!

And why is the best fghter? because Itagaki said so of course! and it have beautiful chicks and a very incredible simulation of breast to give the player the ultimate fighting game ever. Tho the hair is not well done in DOA4, at least the breast works fine and that's what matters the most.

And you can fight well with like ten moves against people and still win because the game is made thinking of real players like me who knows the importance of a great non-fighting engine behind DOA. With VF I don't even need real life chicks or porn I have all I need and more.

And don't call me a perv, is only natural to like 3D chicks...!!!

Well, you're weak, and you play too much against cpu instead of players /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Of course DOA4 is the greates fighter of all! DOA4 FTW! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
Actually, I'm being serious here. Whatever suits you, everyone has the preferences.

I think you meant DOA, right?

Do you understand frames? Once you do, a lot of problems disappear, like throwing out a big move just 'cause or attacking out of big disadvantage.

There are some guides out there for those characters. Now realize a lot of real mix ups are thrown out the door when playing A.I.

I disagree, Urban Reign is actually a very good game with alot of ideas that Tekken should have implemented into the series going into T6...Here's a couple of vids featuring Paul and Law from Tekken in Urban Reign:

    http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=FaxDPXkQL5E

    http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=8C6ZrNc48Wg

This is the games's 1 on 1 versus mode, and the gameplay elements featured here could truly make Tekken look like a 3D fighter IMO...(T4 was the last one to take that path...)

As for Def Jam: FFNY, I cannot comment because I believe that I only played it once...and I'm not too sure about that...

@FrozenWorm-Your rant about VF did seem genuine, until you brought up the points as to why DOA is superior...That's when I knew you were just joking. lol

At any rate, VF is harder to play than Tekken, but don't give up! You just have to keep practicing, you won't become a master overnight...Personally, I'm still trying to master the basics of Aoi and Akira...

^Yes, but it still doesn't change the fact that it had a more fluid(and IMO better...)fighting system than Tekken...

T4 was the same way, awesome, innovative fighting system that greatly captured true 3D gameplay...Ruined by stage glitches and character imbalances(Jin Kazama leads the pack...)..

If those problems would've been fixed, Tekken would be a very different game these days.

Ok... yes I was joking, so far only you did realize of that and it was kinda obvious to me; I mean... the point was VF doesn't suck... I suck...!!!

And about DOA... yeap, I don't like Itakagaki IMO that guy thinks he's the best shit ever. Tho... DOA is a good game, looser friendly but still a good fighter (ranked below Tekken, Soul Calibur and Virta Fighter of course).

Edit: And of course I'm not quiting on VF... Ever! even tho I'm not good at it, I'm practicing and I kinda like it more than Tekken 5 (I love T3 and T4 and I consider I was really really good on those games).

I think VF can also be stylish but it depends soley on the player/s. I think it requires more skill and knowledge of the game to be more stylish in VF than it is in Tekken.

I also think that's one of the reasons why VF isn't as popular outside of Japan. This is the reason I love VF and not Tekken.
