The Pre Beat-Tribe Cup (Pre-BT Cup) is a popular 5on5 team tournament held halfway through the VFR Season. What makes the Pre-BT Cup special is the option to make a 5-person team of the same character. This year, 63 teams (over 300 players) will be playing in the event. 41 of these teams are made up of the same character with 18 of the Virtua Fighter characters represented (A Brad-only team is absent this year). In the past 4 years - Lion teams and Akira teams have each taken a pair of the Cup. Which single character team will take the title this year? Or will a blended team win it all this time!?

Date and Time: May 4, 2013 - 11 AM JST tournament start time
Stream: VFRTV Ustream Channel and on Nico Nico.

FIGHT A FRAUD FOR CHARITY (EPISODE 1)

How far would you go for charity? VFDC has shown that it's willing to hand money over for a good cause, but are you willing to FIGHT FOR IT!?

Just a bit of a premise, I got a $500 loan for SEGA CUP travel expenses, and now I'm left with money that I was 100% SURE that I was going to spend. So after seeing BLACKSTAR's Donation Drive, I found a way to spend it.

This Friday, 4/26 @ 7PM-10PM, I'll be opening up a VF5:FS Room Match on Xbox-Live. Anyone who joins and beats me in a match will be putting $5 (per match won) of that loan money toward ChibiAya's Donation Drive.

Rules of the Room: 5 slots. If people are waiting for a chance to fight in stream I'm going to have to enforce a 3 match limit. IE once you fight me 3 times you'll have to leave to let someone else in. Other than that, the room will run like a normal room. (IE you WILL fight other people, not just me, but my matches are the only ones that have $5 on the line.)

Stream Info: http://twitch.tv/Johoseph

Care about charity? Think you can beat an out of practice Lau player? Show me your best VF skills to get $5 (per match) of my money sent to a good cause.

Inspired entirely by BLACKSTAR, LA Akira's WNF Promotion, and Chibiaya.

Information from Sega Blog
This thread has been created in support of a member of VFDC who has been one of the most helpful and giving to the VF community since the release of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Chibiaya.

If you don't know who he is, Chibiaya is a very talented veteran of the fighting game scene, having played a variety of fighters on a tournament-level of skill -- he's even had a hand at designing a doujin fighting game with japanese developers. As far as Virtua Fighter is concerned, Chibiaya is a very formidable player skilled with Jacky, Wolf, and a variety of other characters. His contributions to the VF community have been numerous. He has contributed valuable information as a Jacky Forum Content Manager on VFDC, as well as created valuable and impressive media focused on VF5:FS; including the very informative podcast series featuring players like Kamaage, video tutorials geared toward newer players learning VF fundamental tech, as well as hosting hype matches between VFDC vets, as seen by many players. Chibiaya has been and still is, one of VFDC's most valuable members.

Unfortunately, Chibiaya has been stricken by cancer. While this has been known, not many understand the extent it may affect him, which includes rising medical costs associated with treatment and pain that can be considered debilitating to most.

Here's where we need your help. A donation fund, via paypal, has been set up for the purpose of relieving Chibiaya's costs of medical treatment, as well as for any other use that Chibiaya deems to use it for. All funds go directly to Chibiaya himself, with no middle-man involved.

Stunfest 2013 will take place in Rennes, France on April 26th, 27th and 30th 2013 as is known as "the place to be" for gamers. As a special bonus for the VF5FS tournament, Kamui will be a guest player from Japan. She is known as a world record holder for the shmup Battle Garegga, but also has a high level Akira and has competed in past Beat Tribe cups. French VFers, and anyone else in the area, be sure to check this out!
